OUR HISTORY
Magellan Pharmaceuticals Inc. (MPI) was founded in 2013. The basic aim of our company was to handle the manufacturing for supporting leads from Magellan BioScience Group, Inc. As the demand for our services rose, we knew we had to expand. In June 2016, as an added value to our clients, we established in-house analytical testing capabilities for the rapid identification and quantitation of pharmaceuticals, vitamins and botanical products.
John M. Cronan Jr., Ph.D.
John Cronan is a highly qualified and accomplished scientific leader with over 30 years of industrial pharmaceutical experience and knowledge. One of our principal founders, he has extensive experience and expertise in the areas of analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical sciences. Additionally, his strong business leadership and management skills make him the perfect President and CEO for MPI.
Before he founded MPI, he served as President and CEO of Magellan BioScience Group, Inc. in Tampa, FL and various other senior positions for these types of industries. His extensive experience makes him capable of optimizing the drug development process and deliver expert services in a timely manner.
Dr. Cronan holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, a Master’s degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Chemistry. He has published numerous scientific papers, holds several patents, has delivered multiple professional presentations and is a member of various professional societies.
Dennis L. Thireault, PMP, MS, BS
Dennis Thireault brings above 20 years of (in-vitro diagnostic/medical) and pharmaceutical manufacturing and extensive QA/Project management experience to MPI. He possesses extensive GMP operations knowledge and a proven track record of leadership.
Prior to joining MPI, Dennis served in various executive roles with companies including Hunan Youtell Biochemical Co. LTD, GSK Biologicals and OligoCo, Bothell. His breadth of experience means that he is well equipped with the expertise, industry knowledge and qualifications to serve as an important team leader. He is an expert in the development and management of successful business models and processes in the biotechnology, medical device, and pharmaceutical industries in addition to providing project management solutions.
Mr. Dennis holds a Master’s in Regulatory Affairs from University of Washington School of Pharmacy and a Bachelor’s in Chemistry from Bemidji State University.
